The Life and Times of Judy Byers
I was born a long time ago. I am the oldest child of five (one miscarriage). I have two sisters, who are now nurses, and two brothers, one who has his own electrical business, and the other who works just to have something to do. He really don't need the money.
I am in the fine tuning stages of training my third husband. #1) Married to him 17 1/2 years. He was very opinionated. He wanted 2 children. Girl first then a "big boy. My daughter, Debbie is now 34 . Married with 2 kids of her own...Whitney, 15 going on 30, was first. Briar (yes, like the rose) is now 7.
My "big boy" is now 29, married with two boys of his own. Dustin is 3 1/2, and Bryson is 2. His name is Stephen and he only weighed 10 lbs. 3 oz. at birth. I gave their father the best years of my (and his, too) life. After we were married almost 18 years, he thought he fell in love. With someone else. Stephen is now a Baptist minister. He is 6'4". 275. (big boy, HUH?)
After I divorced him, I spent the next 5 years as a single mother. Now, that is a book within itself. #2) Silver-Tongued Devil (LUCIFER HIMSELF). Enough said.
#3 I met my current (last) husband on a blind date. He is 98.5% trained. I just need to do a little more fine-tuning and I will be able to take him anywhere. lol
I have written sporadically since age 9. I came from a farm family who had very little. I thank God for my parents teachings, and for my spiritual up- bringing. Knowing me, as I do, had I been left to my own devices.........only God knows. My parents are both deceased, now. If yours aren't, enjoy them.
I am a graduate of Tellico Plains High School. No college. We couldn't pay attention, let alone college. Since I'm oldest, there were 4 more in school. I went to work when I graduated high school. This 4-letter word (work) has continued throughout my life. I became disabled in 2002. Now, I do a little housework, write a little, and wish I could do what I could before. I can't.
I did however take a Special Publishing ( a professional program of writing articles and short stories for publication) course from the Institute Of Children's Literature. I have a diploma which I proudly hung behind my desk. This was in 2000. Most of my "credits" are life-lessons (the hard way)!
My poems have been featured in REFLECTIONS OF THE SOUL, IDYLLIC THOUGHTS and THE BEST POEMS AND POETS OF 2002. I will have a website up and running shortly. It will feature some poems, an e-book (or two) etc. Several people have told me that I need to write my autobiography. I would have to publish it as fiction, because no one would believe it as is. I also love to write songs, although, none of them (so far) have gone too far from the desk they were written on. (Note to self.......work on that.)!
I write because it was created in me to do so. I don't use too many big "fancy words." Frankly, it takes too much time to look them up. lol I write what I know. BTY I'm 55 years old and I have earned every grey hair and every wrinkle in my birthday suit! If any of you are ever in Tennessee.......... Looking forward to the next chat.......I am a talker, as well. Does it show?
I am a firm believer in the fact that if a writer can't get his/her point across without some form of vulgarity in every other sentence, he/she may as well quit. My favorite book is the Holy Bible, KJV. I enjoy good, clean writing wherever and whoever wrote it. I won't name any because I don't have time to look them up. After all, I am an old woman.
The End?
Hardly!
